Monday, Aug. 30, 4 p.m., New York State Deputies Association (police union) protesting at a keynote event at Bryant Park Grill, 25 West 40th Street between 5th & 6th Avenues. More of their protests are

Also, Lockheed Martin is throwing a party (don't know the time) on Tuesday, Aug. 31, for House Speaker Dennis Hastert, at McSorley's Ale House, 15 East 7th Street, near 3rd Avenue.

UPDATE, AUGUST 31:

Workers' Rally

At 4 p.m., the New York City Central Labor Council of the A.F.L.-C.I.O., which represents nearly 400 New York City unions, is holding a rally on Eighth Avenue between 23rd and 30th Streets.

Women's Rally

At 7 p.m., the National Organization for Women has planned what could become the largest rally in Central Park during the convention. They
anticipate up to 50,000 people will gather on the East Meadow to draw women's issues.

The Line

From 8:13 to 8:31 a.m., in a demonstration organized by People for the American Way; the Imagine Festival of Arts, Issues and Ideas; and the New York State A.F.L.-C.I.O., thousands of people will form a symbolic unemployment line from Wall Street to Madison Square Garden.
