Question: Giuliani and Pataki Campaign Contributions

I was hoping to find out how much money Rudy Giuliani and Gov. Pataki have raised for the Bush campaign at this point. Don't need much info. on other political work; just the hard $$ and cents.

Rangers--$200,000 and up.

From www.whitehouseforsale.org,

"Bush's Rangers and Pioneers
Rangers are an elite class of fundraisers created for the 2004 election cycle who have bundled at least $200,000 for the Bush campaign. Pioneers are those who have pledged to gather $100,000. For the 2004 campaign, there are 221 Rangers and 323 Pioneers, so far."

Since Pataki is listed as a Ranger, he has therefore raised at least $200,000 for Bush this election cycle.

Answer: Giuliani and Pataki Campaign Contributions

Hi,

I was not able to find how much Gov. Pataki and former mayor of NYC Giuliani have raised for Bush/Cheney, the Republicans, or anybody else during this current election cycle.

Searching the Federal Election Commission website, http://www.fec.gov, and the Center for Responsive Politics, http://www.opensecrets.org, returns some information for previous campaigns (in Giuliani's case), but no major contributions are listed for either Giuliani or Pataki within the last 2-4 years, soft or otherwise. I also searched New York Times and New York Post articles back to 2000, but could only find references to expensive dinners.

On the Bush/Cheney re-election website, http://www.georgebush.com, Pataki is listed as a Ranger. Giuliani is not listed as either a "Ranger," a "Pioneer," or even a "Maverick." A search for either Pataki or Giuliani as individuals curiously does not return any results. I have emailed the website for the totals, and will post the response here.

One possible solution would be to contact the Governor and the former Mayor themselves. Good luck with that!

Both Pataki and Giuliani have made great strides for the president, as you probably know. Both give speeches, make appearances at fundraising dinners, and support the president openly in the press.

I hope another Radical Reference person may be able to help further in an additional comment. Check back here to see if anyone else has added a comment. I will send out a general call for more help as well.

Sorry I couldn't help more,
